Russian Pavilion at Venice Architecture Biennale 2012: i-city Skolkovo Tube. Duration : 3.50 Mins.

At this year's Venice Architecture Biennale the Russian pavilion presents the innovation city (or i-city) Skolkovo. Skolkovo is one of the largest Russian projects of today. Many international architects such as David Chipperfield Architects, SANAA, and Herzog & de Meuron are involved in the project. The Glass Pavilion, Montecito, CA Tube. Duration : 1.53 Mins.

The Glass Pavilion is a redefining structure within modernism. It is a benchmark building that sets the bar as to what modernism is and can be. Set within a 3.5 acre estate of oak groves in Montecito and boasting 15000 square feet under roof, this home is impressive beyond words. An almost entirely glass home, it allows the occupants to be comfortably inside while completely enveloped within nature. As you drive down the long gated driveway, the home slowly comes into view. You are immediately confronted with a large all glass home floating above gently rolling lawns. The site of it is awe-inspiring. Its kitchen and baths are by such famous names as Varena, Poliform and Antonio Lupi. In each category the best and most exciting products from around the world were sourced to make this home flawless in each category. The home includes an art gallery where the owner currently displays his vintage car collection. The space so generous that it is capable of holding up to 32 cars within its walnut lined walls. Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2010 - Jean Nouvel Tube. Duration : 1.78 Mins.

"This year the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion is designed by world-renowned French architect Jean Nouvel. This 2010 Pavilion is the 10th commission in the Gallery's annual series, the world's first and most ambitious architectural programme of its kind. It will be the architect's first completed building in the UK. The Pavilion commission has become an international site for architectural experimentation and follows a long tradition of Pavilions by some of the world's greatest architects. The immediacy of the commission -- a maximum of six months from invitation to completion -- provides a unique model worldwide. The design for the 2010 Pavilion is a contrast of lightweight materials and dramatic metal cantilevered structures. The entire design is rendered in a vivid red that, in a play of opposites, contrasts with the green of its park setting. In London, the colour reflects the iconic British images of traditional telephone boxes, post boxes and London buses. The building consists of bold geometric forms, large retractable awnings and a sloped freestanding wall that stands 12m above the lawn. Striking glass, polycarbonate and fabric structures create a versatile system of interior and exterior spaces, while the flexible auditorium will accommodate the Serpentine Gallery Park Nights and Marathon and the changing summer weather. Nouvel's Serpentine Gallery Pavilion operates as a public space, a café and as a venue for Park Nights, the Gallery's acclaimed programme of public ...

As time went by, it became a key point of reference not only in Mies van der Rohe's own career but also in twentieth-century architecture as a whole. Given the significance and reputation of the Pavilion, in 1980 thoughts turned towards its possible reconstruction. Work began in 1983 and the new building was opened on its original site in 1986 through the careful philological reconstruction by Ignasi de Solà-Morales, Cristian Cirici and Fernando Ramos and supported by Oriol Bohigas that was the director of the Urban's Department of Barcelona [www.miesbcn.com The Pavilion was not only a pioneer for construction forms with a fresh, disciplined understanding of space, but also for modelling new ...
