For copyright questions, email copyright@filterfoundry.com ______ Jonathan Gales, director at Factory Fifteen in London: "Liam Young, a tutor at the Architectural Association and founder of Tomorrows Thoughts Today, asked me if I was up for going to Chernobyl to film some nuclear destruction aftermath. I said yes. "Our work until now has been mainly concerned with the visual representation of the environments and architecture we have chosen to focus on. So one of the challenges for us here was working more with narrative, a writer and actor. 'GAMMA' was a great opportunity to use the narrative of the project to drive the film. There was an immense amount of design and production work of the elements we included, though we approached the film with them as supports rather than a focus. "As a project, 'GAMMA' contains a lot more live-action footage than many of our other works. Integrating our creations subtly (or not, as some cases show) and convincingly was a real challenge and opened us up to a skill base we had not developed until now. Integrating CGI and VFX with live-action footage is definitely something we want to continue to explore in our work as it helps keeps us grounded with the real world.
