Parish church 3D development models: exterior & interior compilation Tube. Duration : 3.37 Mins.

A compilation of 3D visualisation clips detailing the development of a typical English parish church. The visualisation begins with the foundation of an Early Saxon church, and goes on to present interior and exterior views of the Late Saxon and Norman developments. Further architectural progressions of the 14th and 15th centuries are also detailed from interior and exterior perspectives. The visualisations are extracts from a longer sequence on "The English Parish Church through the Centuries: daily life & spirituality, art & architecture, literature & music " (interactive DVD-ROM, 2010), produced by the Centre for the Study of Christianity and Culture at the University of York. The DVD provides introductions to the latest research on parish churches and the influence of Christianity on literature, music, art and society from 225 leading scholars with nearly 2000 stunning images from national and international collections. The English Parish Church also includes vivid 3-D models of the development of church interiors and exteriors, specially-recorded music from the Anglo-Saxon period onwards, conservation information, and individual case studies of over 30 churches. A resource for everyone interested in art, architecture, archaeology, literature, history, and music. See www.christianityandculture.org.uk.

In terms of building design, Programming Cultures specifically examine's the potential of new software designed to solve specific visualization and data processing problems from within the profession. The book allows architects to become more familiar with programming rather than basing their work on appropriated systems designed for non-architectural applications (Maya, 3D Studio MAX etc.) and will become a primer for an emerging culture of students; academics and young professionals that are starting to outgrow the predetermined structure of today’s most popular modeling and animation packages. ...Read more
