Prairie Deco: The Short Film Tube. Duration : 9.73 Mins.

With original music by Bob Perrone, the grandson of Art Deco master Rene Chambellan, and frequent collaborator with Lee Lawrie. This short film takes viewers inside my book "Lee Lawrie's Prairie Deco: History in Stone at the Nebraska State Capitol," and inside the heart of one of the most beautiful buildings in America and the world. This art deco palace is adorned with the sculpture of Lee Lawrie,(1877-1963). While Lawrie has works all over the United States, in Manhattan, Washington, DC, Chicago, and Los Angeles, his work on the Nebraska State Capitol marks the pinnacle of his 70 year career and was his largest sculptural commission of his life, entailing literally hundreds of architectural sculptures, and other architectural details. Enjoy the film. It runs just under ten minutes, and then go get the book. Google it, and you will find it!
