Big Architecture Conference 11: 'New Rules, New Responses' Friday May 13, 2011; Ljubljana, Slovenia Big Architecture conferences are special, and are set apart from other architectural conferences and events by a specific theme, a particular set of issues the conferences works to develop. BA themes are important as guides, they help focus the talks, frame specific design issues which are particularly timely and relevant; and create a kind of red line that's more clearly developed and more rewarding to follow. This year's theme is "New Rules, New Responses". The conference explores the relationship between changing demands and intelligent responses in architecture today; and considers how these changing relationships are shaping the architectures practiced today and in the future. Selected internationally-engaged offices from across the continent have been invited to address these issues through their exceptional work, and through a dynamic dialogue-process within the framework of "New Rules, New Responses". All of these offices demonstrate a certain touch, a particular intelligent discipline and sensitivity that comes through in their design solutions, regardless of scale, location or program.
