Her subsequent work, whether monument, sculpture, design object, or building is equally characterized by its harmony of message and material. In recent years, Lin has focused on a reconsideration of landscape in a time of ecological tension and change. Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi organised a memorial lecture by renowned artist Jatin Das to celebrate the birth centenary of Dr. MS Randhawa on 2nd February 2009. An exhibition of the photographs and memorabilia of Dr. Randhawa was also compiled and held in collaboration with Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, India. This video is the recording of the slide presentation by Shri Jatin Das Jatin Das is a contemporary Indian artist originally from the erstwhile princely state of Mayurbhanj, Orissa. Born on 2nd Dec, 1941, he studied painting at Sir JJ School of Art in Bombay and moved to Delhi in 1968. He has been painting for over 50 years. Jatin draws with conte, paints with oil and water colour, engraves on zinc and copper plates. He has been commissioned to execute many murals in India including the large one for the Indian parliament in New Delhi "Mohenjodaro to Mahatma Gandhi": Five Thousand Years of India. He has also executed steel sculptural installations in India. He has held more than 55 one man shows in India and overseas and participated in National and International group shows, such as Paris Biennale, Venice Biennale, Tokyo Biennale and India Triennale. He has been honoured with two honorary doctorates from two universities. Other than being an artist, he is also a professor of art as well as a poet.
